Serena Wines 1881 is a family-run winery, located in the heart of the Prosecco region. It is just a short distance from Conegliano, a place to which it is bound by deep roots, as evidenced by its historic landed estates nestled amidst the soft rolling hills shaped by vineyards.
The company reached its fourth generation with Giorgio Serena, and is now in its fifth generation, with Giorgio’s son Luca at the helm: 145 years of history along with a deep passion for winemaking and unwavering focus on quality and refinement, that have allowed Serena Wines 1881 to evolve over the years to guarantee wines of the utmost quality.
Our story
1881

The first steps
Pietro Serena starts up a business selling wine in wooden barrels to the mountainous region of Cadore. This moment marked the start of the entrepreneurial activity of the Serena family in its first location in Cornuda, in the province of Treviso.
1930

The journey continues
After a period of growth, at which time the company had relocated to Crocetta Trevigiana, Luciano Serena (the son of Pietro) continued the business set up by his father and founded a distillery for the production of grappa.
1960

Further expansion
Luciano’s sons - Lino, Corrado, and Adolfo - continued the tradition of wine sold by the litre, and also began to offer wine sold in demijohns.
In 1967, Adolfo Serena moved the company to Susegana, introducing a small yet significant step forward, with a bottling plant.
1980

Moving forward
The company continues to grow and reaches its fourth generation. Gerardo and Giorgio Serena joined the company and recognised the need for innovation in the wine market: in 1987, they started selling kegged wine, which proved to be ideal for the emerging catering and hospitality scene.
This moment marked a further change for the company which, in the same year, adopted its current trade name: Serena.
In the 1990s, the Serena brothers installed a cutting-edge kegging facility, establishing the company as a leader in the industry.
2000

The new generation
In 2003, the new winery was opened in Conegliano, the heartland of the Prosecco region. Following this, in 2005, the company acquired a Champagne house, which paved the way for establishing the brand Champagne De Vilmont.
At this time, the company was also joined by Gerardo’s daughter Chiara, and by Giorgio’s son Luca, who joined in 2004 after graduating in economics, taking charge of the foreign markets division.
2021

Our 140 years
In 2021, we celebrated our “first” 140 years. In all this time, we have worked hard to shape our identity amidst the hills of the Prosecco region, pursuing a family tradition of passion, dedication, and vision.
The same year saw the launch of a range of bottled wines bearing the label Serena 1881, which embodied all the fundamental values of the company. Important investments were also made in Keg-filling machinery designed for single-use (one-way) kegs, for the delivery of wine to overseas markets.
Today

Innovation
We believe in a future where innovation and respect for the environment go hand in hand. That’s why we make investments in sustainable solutions that reduce our carbon footprint while maintaining the quality of our wine.
Customers are at the centre of everything we do: we listen carefully and respond flexibly to every request: it is this vision that has allowed us to become a benchmark in the market for our reliability, innovation, and responsible approach.
Tomorrow

The future
We have an ambitious outlook for the years ahead! We will continue to expand on international markets, consolidating our core business: bottled sparkling wines and kegged wines. In addition to this, we are expanding our warehouse to optimise the storage of our finished product and evaluate new ranges of alcohol-free and low-alcohol wines to tap into new market trends.

Our guide
Today, Giorgio and Luca Serena are at the helm of Serena Wines 1881, respectively the fourth and fifth generation of the family: the two are the perfect representation of the bond between experience and vision that characterize the company, as well as the union between respect for the winemaking tradition of Conegliano and the strong drive towards innovation.

Our territory
The Prosecco hills, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are the beating heart of Serena Wines 1881: a unique winemaking landscape, in which the climate, the composition of the soil and the centuries-old tradition create the ideal conditions for excellent production.

Our wine
Serena Wines 1881 offers a wide range of products, a perfect combination of quality, authenticity and innovation. Each label is the result of careful processing, designed to meet the needs of the HoReCa market and the most attentive consumers.
From bottles to kegs, each wine tells a story of passion.

Our Estates

VILLE D’ARFANTA
This estate is perched on the magnificent hilly slopes north-east of the winegrowing region of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene, in Arfanta di Tarzo: here, the grapes cultivated in vineyards covering 6 hectares are the source of the prestigious “Ville d’Arfanta” wines.
In addition to the estate itself and its magnificent vineyards, there is now a recently renovated farmhouse created as a place where clients and friends are welcomed as guests.

TENUTA OSSI
The antique Ossi Estate (Tenuta Ossi) is located on the gentle rolling hills just a few kilometres north of Conegliano. It was passed down to the Serena family by their uncle, Edoardo Ossi, who already produced wines there.
Eleven hectares of splendid vineyards, with old vine rows and newly created terraces, surround the historic farmhouse that is a symbolic legacy of times past, a striking reminder of the architecture of a bygone era.

PART OF THE UNESCO HERITAGE
In 2019, the hills of the Prosecco DOCG region were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site; it is in this very area that the Serena Winery, with its estates and vineyards, is located.
For the region, this achievement is far more than just an important recognition: it represents a new way to showcase this area well beyond the already renowned and prized production of Prosecco DOCG, offering a truly special experience to the numerous Italian and international visitors who come here.
